To create a new National Museum for Wales as the centre piece of Swansea’s emerging Maritime Quarter

Our Approach
Appointed in the same week as Wilkinson Eyre Architects, the architecture was developed alongside the maritime and industrial stories and collections that would be contained within the completed building. The approach to the interpretation acknowledges the changes in the way visitors use museums following the introduction of free access. It is based not only on the more conventional inspirational and educational values of museums but also on pure entertainment value therefore encouraging participation from a new, broader based audience.
